FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I expect during my first phone call appointment in regard to TMS?

During the first phone call appointment, you will be paired with a member of our Care Team to go over the following:

  • Your insurance

  • Location options

  • Health stipulations that may disqualify someone from receiving TMS

  • Obtain past history of medications, diagnoses, and previous treatments used to manage your depression, MDD with comorbid anxiety symptoms, or OCD.

There is no fee associated with this phone call appointment. It is purely to get to know you, what you are looking to get help with and if our clinic is a good fit for you.

Are your treatments safe?

Yes, all our treatments are performed by highly trained and certified TMS Technicians. We prioritize your safety and comfort, adhering to the highest standards of medical care.

TMS does have a <1% seizure rate. However, our staff is trained to handle any emergencies that arise and adhere to a strict seizure protocol.

What Insurances does your clinic accept? What will I owe?

We accept Aetna (Meritain), Anthem (most BCBS), Auxiant, Cigna, Sagamore Health, Medicare, UHC (UMR).

**Please call to confirm, you may have OON benefits that can be utilized.

NOTE: We will not know what your copay is until we are able to obtain a front and back photo of your insurance card to run a Verification of Benefits. From there, our office manager, Amanda, will call you back with the information of what you are financially responsible for.

What is required of me for TMS Treatment?

With TMS treatment, there are a few requirements that help determine whether this treatment is viable for you:

  • Do you have availability five days a week for 30 minutes at a time? Treatment is five days a week, for about seven weeks.

  • Are you currently seeing a Psychiatrist? TMS requires you to obtain a referral from a Psychiatrist in order to receive TMS. It also requires you to be under the active care of the Psychiatrist through the duration of the treatment to have it covered by insurance.

  • Do you get 4 hours of sleep a night? If not, you will need to start in order to receive treatment. If you do not get 4 hours of sleep a night, then we will have to cancel the treatment for that day.

  • Do you have metal in or around your head? If so, you may not be eligible for the treatment, but please speak to one of our TMS Technicians as it is a case by case basis.

  • Have you tried anti-depressants before? If so, please try to have a list prepared for our TMS Technician to record to see if you qualify for the treatment to be covered by insurance. Each insurance requires different amounts of traditional medication to have been tried before authorizing TMS. Please speak with one of our TMS Technicians to see what your insurance requires.

*If you haven't tried any medications or aren't seeing a psychiatrist - that is okay too. We do have cash options available to do not require the same stipulations.
